Don’t feel ashamed. EVERYBODY is guilty of this. How else would you keep yourself updated on that girl who sat behind you in math class and her divorce. What if it surfaces that she had an affair with his brother? I mean, you’ve been following this from day 1 like it was the damn Casey Anthony trial. Plus—drama is always better when you actually know the person.
While this is harmless fun as you enjoy your Special K cereal and coffee, it can turn sour before you hit ‘refresh’ again.
No matter how ‘secure’ we think we are, we’re not. We’re 100% in denial of this. You know the saying, “if you say something enough, you’ll start to believe it”. That’s basically what we do. If your boyfriend or guy you’re seeing becomes friends on Facebook with four of the most unattractive girls whom are “in a relationship”, who cares. Where did they meet? Does he all of the sudden like her? Ew.
Not only do we send a mass text to our all betties saying, “Ew. Did you did check out that fugs Stacey, what’s that about??” It could be a girl from Middle school for all we know, but we automatically build up a stigma toward our love interest and bratitude begins.
JUST SAY NO!
Relationships are hard enough. You will become the pyscho girlfriend overnight and that’s never an attractive quality. Have more faith in your relationship. There’s a reason you’re the betty he chose! 🙂
